The name, King's Pine, is a play off the beers piney notes, with a nod to Bangor's logging history. In the mid 1700s, England claimed many of the areas large Pine Trees known as "King Pine's" as their own. Eventually, this became one of the catalysts for the Revolutionary War. While the King Pine's may have started a conflict in years past, this beer will bring people together. Bright orange-copper in color, the aroma is blend of orange, tropical fruit and a hint of pine. First sip, you will experience big orange flavors, that carries throughout before the back of the palate gets hit with waves of tropical fruit that fades into piney notes. The low perceived bitterness to this beer, with loads of flavor from the late kettle and flavor additions create a flavorful American IPA without the big ABV that makes this beer an easy one to order more than once.
This American Style Wheat Beer is designed to keep you flying longer with it's lower ABV. A light hoppy bitterness cuts through this unfiltered cloudy, straw-colored beer created with the use of American Hefeweizien yeast. We proudly salute our hometown Maine Air National Guard with this refreshing wheat beer.
Captain Molly Kool was North America s first female licensed Atlantic sea captain. She was ahead of her time with strong ties to the Bangor area and Geaghan s Pub. Like Molly, our IPA, Capt. Kool, is bold, brash and beautifully balanced. Our brewers blending of well timed additions of Cascade, Columbus, and Chinook hops have produced a big IPA with an ABV of 7.5% and 70 IBU. Capt. Kool IPA is our tribute to the strong, brave women we all admire.
Dedicated to the largest American county by land area east of the Mississippi River, Big County pays homage to our family ties to Northern Maine's farming industry, and the pride having roots from "The County" holds. Featuring hops from Aroostook Hops in Westfield and malts from Maine Malt House in Mapleton; we are thrilled to have this beer offer all Aroostook County ingredients.
Our brewer's favorite staple beer is copper in color with moderate maltiness and features grapefruit hop character. This pale is brewed with traditional Cascade hops from the Pacific Northwest that linger on your palette. The name says it all: American strong, like Officer Bernie Welch, a legend in the Bangor Police Force. From Freeses Department Store through Devil s Half Acre, with his billy club in hand, he wiped the smile off more than one hooligan s face while keeping Bangor s downtown safe.
Malt forward flavors from UK Golden Promise and American 2-Row are balanced with the light hoppy goodness of Northern Brewer and East Kent Golding giving this slightly sweet red ale a unique place in our growing line up of ales. Occassionally available in house as a nitro offering.
To be innovative, sometimes one must look back. Enjoy our take on a traditional German Light Lager. Designed around the memories of our dear old Maine, our lightest brew offering will make you want to sing. With nostalgic hints of bready Munich malts and a bouquet of floral notes from German Noble hops. Have a pint, and toast once again to careless days, rafters that ring, and memories that (unlike this beer's taste), never fade away.
