Burled Bark is a Helles Lager that pours a brilliant pale gold color with aromas of freshly milled pale malt, lightly toasted bread, cedar, and a subtle floral hops. The classic combo of German Pilsner and Munich malts lend a rich, complex flavor that, along with a restrained bitterness, lets the malt shine from start to finish. Combined with a clean German lager yeast and extended cold conditioning, Burled Bark packs a breadth of flavor in a crisp, sessionable package.
Inspired by the summer nights when you want to linger a little longer, when the sun has set but the sky is still lit and the first stars start to appear. Early Appearance of Stars is a West Coast IPA--a style that got most of us into craft beer--and pours a brilliant, deep gold color bursting with aromas of citrus zest, woodsy dankness, mixed berries, fresh cut grass, and mellow toasted grains. The flavor brings an intense grapefruit juice character and a long lasting, assertive bitterness. Early Appearance of Stars finishes crisp and dry just like a Maine summer night.
Our latest iteration of Barn Hex, featuring Mosaic and Idaho Gem, hits with strong aromas of blueberry, cherry, bright mango and subtle cannabis character. The flavor starts with mixed citrus zest that fades into lingering notes of pineapple and berry. A restrained bitterness and rich, creamy mouthfeel rounds out what might be our favorite Barn Hex to date! 8.5% Alc. by Vol.
Scrugsy is such a good doggie. This beer pops with pineapple and cotton candy on the nose, evoking feelings of those sweaty/sticky nights of pre-pandemic carnivals. Loaded with passionfruit, papaya, pineapple, and candied oranges, Scruggs will quickly become your favorite adventure buddy.
Heart Trail Spring is a New England DIPA featuring Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin hops. The beer pours pale gold and very hazy. The aroma is a medley of tropical fruits and citrus, primarily featuring a solid foundation of tangerine/grapefruit. The addition of wheat malt rounds the body of this beer out nicely and elevates the gobs of hoppy goodness, flavors of grapefruit, sweet tangerine, lychee, and papaya. The body of this beer is pillowy soft and opulent. Sitting at 8% Alc. by Vol.
Flashlight Tag! This iteration of Flashlight Tag opens with warm earthy aromas of maple syrup from the black walnuts then peanut brittle and candied pecans. This beer tastes of black walnut up front, followed by the middle of a cherry Tootsie Pop and pecan pie with background notes of hazelnut coffee. The mouthfeel is wonderfully silky slick and delightfully decadent.
Spinkus pours a deep golden color with orange highlights and heavy haze. A hefty dry hop of Nelson Sauvin and Huell Melon create aromas of white grape, mixed berries, pear, and subtle papaya. The flavors follow the nose, along with a slight toasted malt quality. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel, and just enough bitterness to cut through it all. Spinkus packs assertive, complex hop character in a sessionable crusher of a pale ale!<br /><br />Spinkus was a mean cat with a crooked tail. She was a fierce huntress and lived to be 24 years old. She was with us for many years and may she be with us in spirit for many more!
Manifesting is a double fruited sour that pours sunshine gold with profound haze, and brings with it aromas of overripe peach, candied mango, and Hi-C juice boxes. Each sip is an assortment of tropical and stone fruit flavors, along with a bright, yet restrained, acidity. Manifesting is 5.5% alc by volume.
Same dog new collar! For this variant we used Galaxy and Citra in the dry hop. Galaxy Scrugsy features kiwi, pineapple, peach, mango, and sweet tarts in the aroma. The first sip brings a crisp mineraly slightly drying sensation that is backed up by hefty amounts of @blueoxmalthouse wheat and oats, followed by a cornucopia of tropical flavors, stone fruit, and peach rings. Scrugsy is a 7.1% ABV IPA.

Introducing Hexology! Our first double dry hopped IPA. To us double dry hopping a beer means dry hopping the beer twice, and at double the amount. This iteration presents with intense aromas of pineapple, orange and lemon zest, and loads of grapefruit. The first sip brings bright hop notes, flavors of grape and pineapple candy, rounded out with lychee and papaya, and some lingering hop bite. This beer is easily the most aromatic hoppy beer we've made to date. The dry hop is made up of a blend of Bru-1, Mosaic, and Citra. Hexology is 7.3% alc. by volume/
The Sun and Moon share the same origin, the same base beer treated differently. The Sun is dry hopped with Northern Hemisphere favorites Idaho 7 and Strata. The Moon is dry hopped with Southern Hemisphere favorites Motueka and Nelson Sauvin. Two sides of the same 4-pack. The Sun begins with bright assorted citrus--notably blood orange leaning toward grapefruit--and lychee and papaya. The flavor carries pithy orange and light strawberry, and ends with a delightfully nutty malt character. The Moon begins with aromatics of white grape juice, mixed berries, and fresh cut flowers. The first sip is reminiscent of reisling, juicy tangerine, and brings a drying minerality.
We took our signature IPA and loaded it up with the dynamic duo of New Zealand Waimea and El Dorado LupoMAX hops, creating a lovely blend of aromatics that present kiwi, blueberry, grapefruit zest, and earthy pine. The palate erupts with flavors of lime, assorted Jolly Ranchers, and tangelo. This version of Scrugsy ends with the soft, silky mouthfeel you've come to expect.
Weathered Rake is a pale ale featuring Baronesse Pale Malt, Triticale Munich Malt, and Malted Spelt from Linc Malt, and Pale Malt and Munich Wheat from Blue Ox. The dry hops for this beer were also locally sourced and feature Cascade grown in Maine from @thehopyard alongside Cashmere and Strata from @royfarms_hops. The resulting beer is beautiful. Pouring bright orange with heavy haze, the aroma presents with light pine and mixed citrus leaning towards lemon-lime. On the palate the beer is light and refreshing with a subtle lemon-lime character backed by light notes of tropical cocktails. The malt really shines through, providing a complex backbone to an otherwise delicately hopped pale ale. Weathered Rake is 5.3% alc by volume.
Belleflower's logo is a modern take on a traditional barn hex. Farmers paint these symbols on their barn to conjure many different things: protection, success, fertility, health, love, passion, creativity. We chose this style of American folk art to express the same ideals in our beers. Today we're proud to introduce our newest brand, Barn Hex. Featuring Rakau, Moutere, and Nelson Sauvin in the dry hop. Barn Hex pours a light straw color with heavy haze and the aroma features mango, peach, and ripe papaya. On the palate you'll taste white grape, grapefruit juice, and other light citrus flavor, rounded out with a light minerality. At 8.5% ABV, it's a sipper for sure.
Finch & Thistle, pouring pale golden hazy with aromas of big papaya, kiwi, pineapple, and stone fruit that will make you long for summer. This strong pale ale opens with flavors of grapefruit and other tropical citrus and stone fruit for a crispy taste that finishes with some light malt sweetness. Distlefink, the hex symbol on this label represents happiness and good fortune. 6.8% ABV
Magie is a true beauty, it pours milky-white with heavy haze. This beer punches your nose holes with perfume-y dank and sappy hops, it lingers on with notes of white pepper and lemon/lime. It drinks extremely soft and pillowy, has a very light amount of bitterness and is well complemented by mild dryness with a hint of grapefruit zest.
Faeries are mischievous mythical creatures believed to behave maliciously. When provoked faeries prank their human neighbors by ruining or stealing crops, drink or food, or tools and grain. When they are feeling generous they are helpful around the farm, hearth, and home. Faerie Offering is Belleflower's first sour beer and is a gesture of peace to the faeries. Pouring deep watermelon pink with a pale pink head, the aroma carries a berry medley with cherry and blackberry in the forefront. The first sip brings a jammy mix of blueberries and cherry alongside some tartness from the blackberries. Faerie Offering finishes clean and refreshingly tart just like its namesake. If you see any, would you tell them I know someone whose floors need sweeping?
Honor the honey bee. Not only are these little foragers vital to our survival, they love bluebells (a type of bellflower) and vomit up liquid gold. Just as making beer is an art of transformation, this ritual is a kind of folk magic performed to sustain our ecosystems. Bees pollinate flowers, fruits, and vegetables allowing them to grow seeds and bear fruit. Folk Magic is an IPA with aromas of grape candies, papaya, and some stone fruit, with floral and woodsy undercurrents. The flavor starts with loads of melon and tropical fruit that ends with a resinous hop character and a touch of nuttiness from the addition of spelt.. So waggle on over and get some of this royal jelly!
Into the Kaleidoscope is dry hopped with insane amounts of Citra and Amarillo and opens with aromas of pears, peaches, jolly ranchers, and mixed citrus notes that are highlighted with an undercurrent of dank hoppiness. The beer bursts with flavors of passion fruit, followed by citrus and light stone fruit. The fruit flavors are rounded out by notes of white peppercorns and gentle hop bitterness. A full sip of Into the Kaleidoscope is reminiscent of biting into a juicy peach or fleshy mango. You might see a shift in your perception after drinking this beer. 8% ABV.
Introducing another version of Barn Hex, now with melon vibes! This iteration of our DIPA features Mosaic, Strata, and El Dorado in the dry hop and pours pale gold with heavy haze. The aroma features big melon vibes on the nose, honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberry, wild flowers, rose water, fresh cut grass, and a hint of orange. The flavor follows the aroma with melon, strawberry, and flowers. With a soft mouthfeel and 8.5% abv, lookout--this beer is very drinkable.
A few months ago we got together with our friends @barrelculture to brew a rich, dark beer paired with complex dark fruits. The result? GiGi's Jam! Inspired by the recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation, GiGi's Jam evokes memories of canning jam with your GiGi (or YaYa, or Gramma, or Nonnie). Gigiâs Jam pours dark with dark purple and ruby highlights, and opens with aromas of Fig Newtons, blackberry laced chocolate cake, and port wine. That's because we straight up put in too many blackberries. Second to that is fig...how to describe the feeling of having your senses of taste and smell assaulted by Fig Newtons....The flavor starts with blackberry and is slightly tart and toothsome. Layers of dark fruit, rich malt, and fig complement the tartness of the blackberry, which is evenly rounded out by the addition of chocolate. The experience wraps up with a full bodied, velvety mouthfeel--it's almost like sneaking a treat before you head back home. GiGi's jam drinks excellently for a 13.3% ABV Imperial Stout.
The nose on this beer has notes of vanilla bean, ginger bread cookie dough, botanicals. The first sip offers a slick mouthfeel with a full body, followed by dark chocolate, cherry, and brown sugar flavors. Secret Clubhouse is 12.5% alc by volume.
Surprise your loved ones this holiday season with a special version of Lost Leaf Oak. Aged in Sauvignon Blanc barrels this lager carries all the notes you'd expect from popping open that special bottle of bubbles this holiday season. Barrel conditioning adds flavors of vanilla, oak, minerality, with a light citrus undertone, along with a silky, full mouthfeel while maining a crisp finish. Lost Leaf Oak is great for celebrating the holidays at home or dropping on a friend or neighbor's doorstep. 5.3% alc by volume.
Lagered for two months this Baltic Porter was fermented low and slow with a German lager strain and piled high with characterful malts. The Awakening Place erupts with aromas of chocolate-covered raisins, toasted barley, and subtle roast. Each sip brings waves of deeply complex malt character of roasted nuts, caramel, and light roast coffee, along with dark fruit flavors of fig and raisin. A medium-full body and warming finish makes this a great fireside sipper.
